Puppy Training
When I got my first Ridgeback (Nala a Liver nose), I was determined to do everything right. Let's all say it together Ha Ha! All the reading and research said that if I was going to get a liver nose I'd better know what I was doing because they were the most stubborn of the stubborn. So I knew I couldn't take her to training till she had all her shots at 15 weeks. But I was convinced that as a Liver that would be just too long to wait and I needed a head start. So again I went back to my research and I found www.leerburg.com and I ordered his puppy video "8 weeks to 8 months". This was the best money I every spent. It is full of common sense answers to questions that you will be surprised with. He also has a lot of free pod casts. By the time Nala went to puppy classes with other dogs she was at the top of her class. Nala is the best dog and the most obedient dog I have ever had. *If you have other options besides PetSmart or Petco please do pick something else. These two places are NOT I repeat NOT trained adequately enough to handle the personality and temperament of a Rhodesian Ridgeback. If you are not doing your own training I Highly suggest you look for a trainer that has Ridgeback experience.
